Find Intersection Points

Graph and Geometry Screen


Example:

Let's find the intersection points
of the graphs of

parabola and y = x + 6.

[ f1(x) is already graphed
for the following example ]

 

 

To ENTER A SECOND FUNCTION:
Press TAB to get back to the command line.
If you want to see (or change) f1(x), use UP arrow.
Type in the new function,
f2(x) = x + 6, press ENTER.
Press ESC to move into the graph area.

Find the POINTS of INTERSECTION:
Press MENU
#6 Points & Lines
# 3 Intersection Points
A pointing hand will be displayed
along with one of the graphs being highlighted.

When the pointing hand appears, click on each graph
and all intersections points in the viewing window
will be found.
Intersection

To permanently display these coordinates,
press ENTER or CLICK.
If you do not want to permanently display these coordinates,
Press ESC or CTRL-Z to "undo".

You may want to "move" the ordered pairs so they
are more visible. Use the arrow keys to move to the
ordered pair. Hit CTRL - CLICK buttton to
bring up the "grab hand". Grab the coordinate and
move it to the desired location.

To reduce the display precision (the decimals shown),
press HOME - #8 Ststem Info - #1 Document Settings
and set Display Digits to 1 or 2.
